Hello! Welcome to the website of Catherine Brewer. Glad you stopped by. I’m a pre-published writer/illustrator of children's picture books, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
My medium of choice but not limited to is : watercolor, color pencils and a variety of collage techniques. I adore a hot or cold cup of coffee daily. “I’m passionate about creating meaningful fun, sometimes serious, sometimes not picture books that reflect our diverse world.” I want children to “see” themselves in my stories. When I’m not teaching my art students, you’ll find me in one of my many sketch books, creating a brand new flawed character or writing a new rough draft and REVISING, REVISING REVISING the old ones!
Member of the following: Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 picture book challenge, Society of Children Book Writer’s & Illustrators, and the Author’s Guild. Master’s in Art Education, Bachelor of Technology in Communication Design, Associate in Applied Science in Art & Advertising Design. Children’s Book Academy Graduate. Currently seeking representation for my picture books and looking forward to the collaboration process!
